Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken breast cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne or chili powder optional
  • Lemon juice or chopped parsley optional for finishing

Equipment

  • 1 Air fryer
  • 1 Food thermometer

Method

  1. Cut the chicken into even 1-inch pieces. Pat dry with paper towels so the seasoning sticks and the edges brown better.
  2. Add the chicken to a bowl with oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, oregano, and optional cayenne. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 390 F if your model recommends preheating.
  4. Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed so the pieces are not crowded.
  5. Air fry for 8 to 11 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the pieces halfway through.
  6. Check the thickest pieces with a food thermometer. Chicken should reach 165 F internal temperature.
  7. Rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving or portioning into meal prep containers.

Notes

Nutrition is an estimate and will vary by chicken brand, oil amount, seasoning, and serving size. Cook chicken to 165 F internal temperature as measured with a food thermometer.
