Method
- Cut the chicken into even 1-inch pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
- Toss chicken with oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390 F if your model recommends preheating.
- Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
- Air fry for 7 to 9 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through.
- Brush or toss the mostly cooked chicken with 1/4 cup BBQ sauce.
- Return chicken to the air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes, just until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Check the thickest pieces with a food thermometer. Chicken should reach 165 F internal temperature.
- Toss cooked chicken with the remaining BBQ sauce or save extra sauce for serving.
- Divide chicken, rice or potatoes, and vegetables between four meal prep containers.
